I really like this ferris wheel photo frame, but I have yet to put my own pictures in it…why? I feel like it is too special of a frame to choose the pictures. So there it sits in my study at home, with the original store-photos in it.

So, I joined The Daring Kitchen Challenge this month and I really enjoyed it. 

The November 2009 Daring Cooks challenge was brought to you by Audax of Audax Artifex and Rose of The Bite Me Kitchen. They chose sushi as the challenge.

This month the surprise recipe was sushi..and I love sushi.  The most difficult part of this recipe, other than waiting and waiting for the rice to cook, was finding sashimi grade fish.  It took discovering where the local Asian grocery stores in my are located, but I found them and and a lot of fun visiting them to gather my ingredients.  The most difficult thing to find was the sashimi grade fish…I found tuna.

 The challenge was four-fold, including the sushi rice and three different kinds of sushi, including the dragon roll, nigiri rolls, and a fancy spiral.

Here are mine:

Spirals (purple cabbage, carrots, cucumber, shrimp) and tuna nigiri and shrimp nigiri:

Vegetable spirals (red bell pepper, carrots, cucumber)

This challenge was a lot of fun (and delicious!).  We will be doing this several times in the future, I am sure.
